Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

I am so glad there has been such positive response to the Tiki Bar TV Icon/Cursor Set!

Tiki Bar TV Icon/Cursor Download:
http://homepage.mac.com/millsmess/TikiIcons.sit

Tiki Bar TV Desktop Picture:
http://homepage.mac.com/millsmess/TikiD … apshot.jpg

To implement the OSX system icons like the trash I use Candy Bar 2.6:
http://www.panic.com/candybar/

To implement the OSX Cursor I use Mighty Mousen 1.2.2:
http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/mightymouse

I hope someday to do an even more complete icon set by adding some of the more obscure system icons and adding drop states to many of the first ones I made. You will see the later icons I made have drop states and better masking.
Good Luck!

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Hey all,

Well I greatly added to the TikiBarTV Icon/Cursor set!

I now have all of the guest characters as icons.
I also created a much better generic tiki folder to use as a system icon.

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Sweet Dude. Thanks:)

I still at some point would like to make drop states to some of the earlier icons I made as well as touch up the masking. Also I have to make a new icon from the latest episode. Thanks again!

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

yeah, its true, i hate the icon handling in Windown as much as the next guy, i mean, it takes dang near a lifetime to learn how to do that sort of thing on a PC, but i ain't ready to make my trek into "Jobs World" much further than my ipod and itunes, i guess i'll need a near death experience with Microsoft to change my mind

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

It's not really all that hard on a PC, it is just that I would have to dumb down the images so much I would have to make them more abstract ultimately not really making it worth it. Honestly I would make PC icons if I had more time.

Right now I have just started developing drop states to some the system icons. For example the Applications folder now when you drop something into it, the drop state shows the folder open and the two bottles go inside the folder. Good fun:)

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

As I note in the "*Do Not Read Me" file you can download Candybar2 to implement the system icons: http://www.panic.com/candybar/

Otherwise to change an icon of something in general get info on the TikiBarTV icon you like. Select the small image in the top of the get info window. Then command-C (Copy)
Then Get Info on the file you want to change. Select that icon image in the top of that window and command-V (paste) Presto!

I see now Candybar 2.6 is Universal so it should work on any mac. Except of course for OS9 users but if a person is still using OS9 then they have bigger problems and need to turn the page. However I know the feeling of legacy software chaining you down:)

--
I just did a minor update to the download file.
I still haven't gotten a greek tiki icon yet, however I did update the Applications folder with a fun drop state:)
Enjoy... More to come eventually:)

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

I am a couple episodes behind... Real life gets in the way sometimes. But I did learn how to do better drop shadowing on the icons, which I hope to incorporate into all of the icons along with more drop states eventually... Time will tell. As a minimum I really gotta add a couple to the Lala Shrine! Man she is still so hot... argh!

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Whoah!

I am way behind now! and Leopard can utilize much higher resolution! Soon Candybar should have Leopard Friendly version to use. Also I am hoping that the Icon Factory has a leopard plugin icon template to make things easier...
One thing that makes it trickier is that normally I grab my images right off Command-Shift-4 over a paused TikiBarTV clip in iTunes... Now I need to enlarge the screen much larger and try to capture as much quality as possible to match the 1024x1024 large icon size... I think that is what it is... I haven't really dug into it and checked yet...
I am glad the Tiki Crew is still rockin out new shows!
Thanks guys/gals!

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Man that is great to hear. I was wondering if my icons and cursors were forgotten. That just put a nice warm & fuzzy feeling in my heart for the holidays:)
Although I have lagged in creating new one's (due to work, dishes, and diapers) I have not forgotten. Eventually I will create better icons than ever.

Thanks again for the inspiration:)

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Duuuuude... (yeah I'm from California) I am soooo lagging on a Leopard version of the TikiBar Icons man! I noticed on Leopard it drops the drop states I created oh my! Busy busy busy! The only reason I have these fleeting moments to write this post is because I am waiting for my test database to restore...
...
...
Yeah a little TikiBarTV at 10:30 working on a db restore should be just what the doctor ordered. Now if I can only get Safeway to deliver my Kentucky Drought ingredients in a timely manner....
Anywho... I still aspire to one day make it onto the silver screen(well actually it's green) with my fellow Tiki people;).... whoa my db just got restored! well back to work for me. Take care all Tiki people of the world. Oh yes and I should mention this weekend I am getting my new (and much larger) cube fully re-tiki-ized. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Mahalo Mahalo Mahalo:)
