Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Hey By the way, Thanks Tiki Crew for getting the link on the front page working super good.

By the way, your show has helped inspire me to transcend Tiki into reality.
My Cube at work is now a full blown Tiki Bar. When people ask about it's inspiration I promptly direct them to tikibartv.com. My buddy is making a video of it and took tons of pictures. I'll keep you updated. It is truly rad. You will enjoy seeing it:)

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Yay! I made my first drop state icon to add to the Lala Shrine! Now I can make some really bad ass stuff. I will eventually want to create fun drop states for all of the past Tiki Bar TV icons in 2.0 as well as eventually finish off the entire system icon set, not to mention some more extra fun ones!
I am psyched! Now I just need to find the time. But worry not. Eventually it will come.

According to Steve Jobs, Apple will never sell MacOS for any other platform other than Apple. But then again, Steve once said the iPod would never play video.

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

Yeah I think Hell would freeze over before Apple would make OSX for windows.
I think they have significant advantages being able to control the hardware along with the software. It is this type of integration that helps provide for the additional stability of the user interface on apple products.
They have a superior OS and they know it. So I would assume they would try to continue to leverage that to sell more of their hardware which is becoming similar to PC's. So if the hardware is similar and OSX is better, then eventually more people might start to choose to buy Apples.
It will be interesting how it all plays out. I predict a continued surge in Apple products in the home.
I enjoy my PC's and my Mac's for different reasons. But I suspect that Windows' Longhorn, whenever it comes out might be somewhat limited because a high percentage of their customer base are businesses who won't adapt well to the software changes needed to take their OS to the next level. But I am no expert on the matter really:) The main thing I know is that the icons on Windows suck and the icons on Macs are awesome.

By the way I just completed a totally awesome icon of Lala from the holiday mailbag episode with a groovy drop state which glows out from behind her. I see it like a visual representation of the goddess-like aura she emits from her physical being of perfection.

Why would you sell out to an inferiour OS???

We're not talking about MacOS under Windows... we're talking about running MacOS on standard PC hardware INSTEAD of Windows.

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

I see Canadian Avenger. Good clerification. Yeah we'll see. I would suspect that likely won't happen at least for a while. But I am no expert really:)

Well the icons I made so far I made with IconGrapher.
But now I have shifted over to IconBuilder. IconBuilder is really just an extremely phat plugin for Photoshop.
That is why I can now make drop states to icons. It is really cool. I don't even have to worry about the masks. All I do is work on a transparent background and the plugin filter automatically identifies the opacity of parts of the image to define the mask. Very cool! I have made a few new icons with it now and it really does produce outstanding results. You won't see as much white wierdness now on the edges of the icons:)

I also am almost totally complete with a Tiki Bar TV cursor!!!
It is REALLY cool.
The wait cursor is Lala dancing from the begining of the London Fog Cutter episode. I had to add a little extra pink to her dress though because after I had it reduced down in resolution it she looked kinda unclothed. Although that is the wild fantacy many of us may dream about, I felt due to my respect for Lala it would be best if it exhibited some class.

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

By the way the cursor application I use is MightyMouse.
Not to be confused with the Apple's mouse.
This Mighty mouse lets you create and implement custom cursors on OSX. The cursors generated by this also work with Shapeshifter.

I have completed the TikiBarTV cursor!

It is absolutely RAD!

At some point I will have to zip it up along with some new icons and send it over to the Tiki Crew.

Re: Tiki Bar Icons 2.0

I sent the cursor over to the tiki crew. I accidentally sent it twice, The second one is a little better though because the first one has a very slight box around the Martini Glass I-beam state. I corrected that in the second one I sent them. Also included is a new bonus Lala icon. smile

Great Icons!

But I am unable to use them. How do I enter the TikiGarbage Full/Empty icon so that my trash is a TikiTrash folder?

You can use CandyBar 2.5.1.
http://www.panic.com/candybar/
I don't know if it is a Universal app yet (intel based for Mac) But I have been using it for years on my G4 and G5 Macs, and it has worked great.

I have made several more icons since I submitted the TikiBarTV Icons 2.0. I have also completed a really rad cursor! At some point I hope to complete a full icontainer completely based on Tiki Bar TV.
It just might take a little while because I am super busy:)
